Just how long will it take to sell my property in Portugal?

Well, it obviously depends what condition your property is in, where it is and what it is priced at. However, there is data available from a proven source, although the data is an average and there are varients at each end of the scale.

Recently released data issued by the statistics department at Idealista shows an average time to sell per district.

How long does it take to sell a house in Portugal? - Data by districts. (This map excludes the islands but data is provided below.)

Average months that a house was for sale on the market in the 3rd Quarter of 2020.

Analysis of the national residential market shows how each district and city reacted to the Covid-19 pandemic. The quickest place to sell a house was in Setúbal, with an average of 3.6 months, closely followed by Lisbon, 4.1 months, São Miguel 4.1 months and then Porto 4.4 months.

So, although this accurate information shows a small slowdown in the average time to sell a property, it still shows a vibrant, active market for property sales in Portugal.
