It's not all sunshine and cocktails. This week's weather in Portugal is not pleasant.

Precipitation is sometimes heavy, which may be hail and accompanied by thunder, and there will be snow in the highlands of the North and Centre. Strong winds on the coast and highlands. Rough Seas.

A yellow/Orange warning for Mainland and Madeira for rough seas and a Yellow warning for Mainland for rain and snow was issued.

The sky in general very cloudy. Periods of rain or showers, which can sometimes be heavy, especially on the west coast until mid-morning, and may include hail and accompanied by thunderstorms.

Snowfall at the highest points of the Serra da Estrela, gradually dropping to 800/1000 meters in altitude in the North and Central regions. Possibility of snowfall in the highest points of the S.Mamede mountain range (Portalegre district) at the end of the day.

Weak to moderate wind (up to 30 km/h) from the south/southwest, being moderate to strong (30 to 45 km/h) on the coast and in the highlands, with gusts of up to 70 km/h and 80 km/h, respectively, and may blow with gusts of up to 80 km/h on the North coast at the end of the day. Increase in minimum temperature. Decrease in maximum temperature.

METROPOLITAN LISBON:

The sky in general very cloudy. Periods of rain, sometimes heavy until early in the morning, turning into showers, which may include hail and accompanied by thunderstorms.

Moderate wind (up to 30 km/h) from the southwest, turning west at the end of the day, sometimes blowing strong (up to 40 km/h) and with gusts of up to 70 km/h, especially near the coastal strip. Increase in minimum temperature. Small drop in maximum temperature.

METROPOLITAN PORTO:

The sky in general very cloudy. Periods of rain, sometimes heavy until early in the morning, turning into showers, which may include hail and accompanied by thunderstorms.

Moderate wind (up to 30 km/h) from the south/southwest, sometimes blowing strong (up to 40 km/h), especially near the coastal strip, with gusts of up to 80 km/h at the end of the day. Increase in minimum temperature. Decrease in maximum temperature.

SEA CONDITIONS:

West Coast: West waves of 3 to 4 meters, gradually increasing to 5 to 6 meters. Sea water temperature: 13/15ºC

South Coast: Southwest waves measuring 1 to 2 meters, gradually increasing to 2.5 to 3.5 meters. Sea water temperature: 15/17ºC
